1. I am Vjeko, from Croatia.
Traveling around 7 months across Asia. About wwoof I know by a chance from another traveler. After make some contacts and arrive in Bangladesh , Prof. AtaurRahman welcomed me in IUBAT university in Uttara. He offered me staying on farm in village Kalidaho close to Feni city.
After couple days I find myself in the peace full village surrounded with rice field, palm treas, papayas and big number of small lakes and ponds.
Sumon, owner of the organic farm welcomed me. His farm have 10 cows, some ducks, chicken, fish pond and lots of fruits.
Big surprise after my arriving is news about Sumon wedding next weak end. Because in this beautiful winter season most of the time we spend of preparation for wedding. Lots of panting around house, fixing furniture and other things.
Wedding ceremony lasted 4 days, and is interested and very friendly. After wedding, I left for trip to Cox's Bazar ,Srimangal and Barisal . Countryside is changing all the times. From the fields to endless beach's to river water world. And people are so nice and helpful on every step of my trip.
When I return to village there is middle or rice harvesting. I helped on farm for couple days before going to Dhaka because my trip is coming to the end.
Whole idea about wwoof is very interesting because connect traveling with learning and practical experience of growing organic food.
Because of friendliness and hospitality of Prof .AtaurRahman , my host Sumon , Mr. Lipton Mostafizur and so many people in every situation , I can say that is very successful experience.
